Each February the nation celebrates the contributions of African American's. It's a great time to take your children to community events designed to educate youth about the unique and beautiful culture of Blacks in America. It is also a great time to spend in the library or at the book story exploring books that depict the many stories of heroes like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Harriet Tubman, Michael Jordan and others. Below is a list of a few books that we believe serve as a great start to learning about and appreciating the culture of African Americans.
