Improving Reading Proficiency Through Father Engagement

Real Dads Read (RDR) is program by Fathers Incorporated aimed at elementary and middle school aged children (K-8) and their fathers/male caregivers.
Become a Partner

Real Dads Read is a two-generation approach to engaging and improving outcomes for both men and the children for which they are responsible. Our program goals are:

80% of low-income children will not read proficiently by third grade, a significant predictor of child's school success.
FATHER INVOLVEMENT

Reading to children is a clear and beneficial way for fathers to spend quality time with their children.

When fathers are involved in the lives of their children, especially their education, children learn more, perform better in school, and exhibit healthier behavior. Even when fathers do not share a home with their children, their active involvement can have a lasting and positive impact.
